Autumn is approaching here at Cappadocia, we have some sensational warming Turkish dishes guaranteed to get you through the cold season.

Located in the heart of Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter, Cappadocia is proud to serve wholesome food, made from fresh and nourishing ingredients. But healthy doesn’t have to mean a cold salad. Many of our dishes are served with rice and bulgur wheat. Both of which are healthy and great for warming you up at this time of year. Take a look at some of our favourite Autumnal dishes below.

Kuzu Güvec (Lamb Casserole)

Nothing screams ‘cosy meal’ like a casserole, right? This dish is on the top of our list of warming Turkish dishes. Cubes of lamb, mushrooms, onions, aubergine, mixed peppers, Turkish pepper and tomatoes, are all cooked in an Earthenware pot to create this warming favourite. Also served with rice or bulgur wheat, alongside a salad, this hearty meal is perfect for the seasonal changes. But, if you’re not a fan of lamb, we also have chicken (Tavuk Guvec), fish (Balik Guvec) and vegetarian (Sebzeli) variations. We have a comforting, Turkish casserole for everyone!

Veggie Kebab

We have some great vegetarian options on the menu. However, our Veggie Kebab is our go-to favourite! Aubergine, red and green peppers, mushrooms and onions are cooked on a charcoal grill and topped with a tomato and garlic sauce to create this nourishing and wholesome dish. Served with rice and a house salad, this vegan dish is one of our most trusted warming Turkish dishes, made with all of the hearty ingredients you need.

Sarma Beyti

Our Sarma Beyti is a dish that totally channels those Autumn colours and much desired warmth. It’s also perfect if you fancy something a little lighter. Made with chicken, red onion, fresh tomatoes and herbs wrapped in tortilla bread. Served on a bed of yoghurt, topped with a hot, buttery tomato sauce, it ticks all the boxes to be a winning warmer.
